Look, Ms. MacDanniel, I'm a professional writer!
See, I told you I could write!
In 1999 I began my career as "paintball writer". I
knew Bill Mills from tournaments and the internet. He ended
up landing the job of editor of a new magazine, Paintball
Magazine, which was an offshoot of Action Pursuit Games.
He suggested I send him an article so that the new issue would
have some meat to it. I did, and lo and behold, he liked it!
So I kept writing, focusing on the areas of the sport I know.
Eventually, Bill went on to other things and now Jessica Sparks
is my editor. After the last couple of articles I sent her she
replied asking if I was a professional writer or if I had a
journalism degree. Coming from someone who is a lawyer, I was
extremely flattered. I was then informed that some of my work
would now be in Action Pursuit Games. Wow. Neat. I will
try to get off my rear and write some more for you Jessica!
Currently, I have decided to focus primarily on the technology
of our sport. I love the tech, guns, gadgets, and doodads of
our sport. Eventually I hope to become the leading tech writer
in paintball. I think that many tech articles out there are
victim to a lack of thoroughness. If you ever read a magazine
for firearms, you will see their reviews much more in-depth
and informative. I want to focus on providing reviews of products,
looking at it from all angles, listing all of the features,
report the field performance, and assist the reader in determining
if the product may be right for them.
If you have a product you would like me to review, or have an
idea for an article or interview, please email
me. |
